Small enough to inspect.
Luxgrid is a deterministic four by four lights puzzle. Its purpose is to make the relationship between an action and its result easy to see and independently reproduce.
It is a game, not a hardware controller, energy system, financial product or proof of human skill. The introductory board is intentionally simple and has a public, one-move solution.
One press, one cross.
The sixteen cells are stored as a 16-bit pattern. Row order runs from top left to bottom right. The fixed starting pattern is 626; this is a board value, not a network identifier.
A valid move flips the chosen cell and its existing orthogonal neighbors using an exclusive-or mask. It does not include diagonals, and edges never wrap to another row.
When the pattern becomes zero, all lights are off. The game becomes inactive and cannot accept another move until a new round is started. The sixth cell in reading order solves the introductory pattern in one move.
Two modes, kept apart.
Browser preview
The independent play page runs the same transition rule in tab memory. It does not connect to a backend, save a game or request a wallet transaction. Reloading or leaving the page clears the preview.
On-chain game
A wallet would start its own round and submit moves after a verified deployment is configured. The frontend reads the current round and move counter, previews network gas, requests wallet approval, then validates the resulting receipt and business event.
There is no public deployment configured in this Demo. All on-chain writing is disabled. A connected wallet or a successful local test is not evidence of a public on-chain game.
The contract boundary.
LuxgridLights stores a separate puzzle for each caller. It derives identity from the transaction sender; users cannot supply another wallet as the owner of a move.
| New round | Increments the caller's round, restores the fixed board, clears moves and activates the game. |
|---|---|
| Toggle | Requires an active game, a cell inside the grid, and matching expected round and move count. |
| Events | A new round reports the account, round and board. A move also reports the cell, resulting board, move count and solved state. |
| Permissions | No owner, admin, proxy, reward, deposit or withdrawal path. Business functions reject native-token payments. |
The frontend rejects stale reviews, an unexpected network, missing contract code, changed accounts and receipts without a matching event. The contract's expected-round and move-count checks additionally reject outdated move transactions.
Public data. Real network cost.
On-chain actions would consume the selected network's native gas. Luxgrid does not collect an application fee and does not issue tokens or rewards. There is no fiat fee claim because a public network has not been selected.
A gas preview is an estimate, not a guarantee. Wallet approval and the final network fee remain the user's choice. Starting a round and toggling a light are separate transactions.
Wallet addresses and game states on a public chain can be indexed by others. They are not confidential or erasable by this website. Do not interpret a game record as identity verification or an anti-cheat guarantee.
What exists. What comes next.
The local Demo includes the long-form website, an independent play page, this paper, privacy information, dedicated Solidity source, local business tests and a non-broadcasting deployment preview. Browser visual review is recorded separately from contract test results.
A future version may introduce a reviewed set of solvable puzzles. It is not available in this version. No random difficulty, paid play or reward mechanism is planned into the current contract.
The initial contract is not a proxy. A changed rule would require a new version and address. Old records would stay associated with their original contract; a website update cannot silently rewrite them.
Public website publication and contract deployment require separate instructions. Deployment parameters, target network compatibility and gas limits must be checked before any specifically authorized broadcast.
